Matrina Anyango put on an amazing game in the last round for UCU Lady Canons, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The player was the main contributor (16 points, seven rebounds) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Nkumba LM (#12, 0-9) with 34-point margin 81-47. UCU Ladies maintains the 3rd position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. UCU Ladies will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. Anyango just recently signed at UCU Ladies, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Matrina Anyango averages this season 8.7ppg and 6.5rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Martha Likicho (G-2001) of Angels BC. Likicho had a very good evening with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Bad luck as Angels lost that game 51-58 to the higher-ranked Miracle (#4, 4-3). Angels is still second from the bottom in the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Angels managed to get this year. Likicho is one of the most experienced players at Angels and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Angels' star - Joan Namatovu (1999). Namatovu scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Namatovu's great performance the Angels BC lost 51-58 to the higher-ranked Miracle (#4, 4-3). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Namatovu has a very solid season. In 6 games in Uganda she scored 8.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Akello Winnifred (G-2001) of Miracle - 12 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
