NBL Round 7 (Regular Season): Derby game ends with JTL Jaguars' defeat of UCU Ladies

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: JTL Jaguars (#1) and UCU Ladies (#3). JTL Jaguars (6-1) won against visiting UCU Ladies (4-2) 57-52. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UCU Ladies. JTL Jaguars forced 34 UCU Ladies turnovers. Strangely UCU Ladies outrebounded JTL Jaguars 51-38 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Rhoda Nagitta who helped to win the game recording 7 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Guard Maimuna Nabbosa (-1999) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Shillah Lamunu answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for UCU Ladies. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. JTL Jaguars maintains first place with 6-1 record. UCU Ladies at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. JTL Jaguars' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Miracle.
Bottom-ranked Nkumba LM is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to third ranked UCU Ladies (4-2) 81-47. It was a great evening for Zoe Atek (-2005) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Sylivia Nakituuka helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side guard Mellisa Namboowa (-1992) responded with 19 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UCU Ladies maintains third place with 4-2 record having just three points less than leader JTL Jaguars. Newly promoted Nkumba LM still closes the standings with eight games lost.
