Kayira number one in Uganda NBL for round 8 (by Hoops Agents)

International Center Joel Kayira (208-C-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for UCU Canons Kampala, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 12 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Sommet (#10, 1-4) 78-70. UCU Canons is placed at 7th position in Ugandan NBL. UCU Canons is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. Kayira has many years of experience at UCU Canons, through which he has constantly improved. Joel Kayira has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 10.6rpg) and averages impressive 2.0bpg.

The second best player in last round's games was Cedric Alema of Victoria Crocs. Alema had a very good evening with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Of course he led Victoria C. to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Livingstone (#11, 1-7) 75-42. This victory allowed Victoria C. to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 4-2 record is not bad at all. Alema is one of the most experienced players at Victoria C. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Kabangu Clement of JKL Dolphins Kampala (#6). Clement scored 19 points. He was a key player of JKL Dolphins, leading his team to a 77-68 win against slightly higher-ranked Rezlife S. (#5, 4-4). JKL Dolphins needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Clement has a great season in Uganda. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (best scorer).
