NBL is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 7 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of KCCA P. (4-1) in Kampala on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by Blazers (7-0) 74-37. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of KCCA P.. Blazers held KCCA P. to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Blazers forced 30 KCCA P. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by KCCA P.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Jimmy Enabu (187-1988) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international James Okello (193-1990) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Davis Assimwe answered with 10 points and 5 rebounds for KCCA P.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Blazers have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. KCCA P. at the other side keeps the third position with one game lost. Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: Blazers (#1) and Kampala R. (#6). Kampala R. was crushed at home by 33 points 41-74 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a great evening for Arthur Wanyoto who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. James Okello helped adding 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Mpiya Juf responded with 7 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Blazers. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Kampala R. lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with four games lost. Blazers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Livingstone.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Kampala: Jaguars (#3) and Kampala R. (#6). Jaguars (5-2) crushed visiting Kampala R. (3-4) by 16 points 70-54. It was an exceptional evening for Peter Sifuma who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Jaguars' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Mpiya Juf came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds for Kampala R. in the defeat. Jaguars moved-up to second place. Kampala R. lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 7 Jaguars smashed KIU Titans on the road 80-37. Rezlife S. lost to defending champion City Oilers on its own court 62-68.



KIU Titans - Jaguars 37-80

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Jaguars (5-2) crushed bottom-ranked KIU Titans (0-4) in Kampala 80-37 on Wednesday. Jaguars held KIU Titans to an opponent 18.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded KIU Titans 66-46 including a 47-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Ian Lubwama who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Tong Obde accounted for 6 points and 20 rebounds for the winning side. Four Jaguars players scored in double figures. Ambrose Olum came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Bang Desmasiro added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for KIU Titans in the defeat. Jaguars moved-up to second place. KIU Titans lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. There was an upset when 4th placed Rezlife S. (4-3) lost to eleventh ranked City Oilers (1-2) in Kampala 62-68 on Wednesday. City Oilers forced 19 Rezlife S. turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for forward Joseph Chuma (-1991) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. The former international point guard Fayed Baale (173-2001) accounted for 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Guard Micheal Otieno (193-1993) came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Acinbaai Apugi added 10 points respectively for Rezlife S. in the defeat. Rezlife S.'s coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion left bottom position moving up to eighth place. Newly promoted Rezlife S. keeps the fourth position with three games lost.
