Karungi's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

Guard Patience Karungi (G) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for KIU Rangers and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
She had the game-high 4 points adding ten rebounds and four assists for KIU Rangers in her team's victory, helping them to beat Lady Tomahawks (#4, 2-1) 66-51. Thanks to this victory KIU Rangers moved-up to the 7th position in Ugandan NBL. KIU Rangers is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. It's Karungi's second year at KIU Rangers and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Patience Karungi averages just after three games 4.3ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Stella Nanfuka (PF-1997). She is international forward in her second season at KIU Rangers. In the last game Nanfuka recorded an impressive double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as KIU Rangers lost that game 65-73 to KCCA Leopards (2-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. The last thing KIU Rangers needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Kanyamuneza has a very solid season. In 4 games in Uganda she scored 12.0ppg.
