KIU Rangers have advanced to the semifinals of the National Basketball League playoffs with a decisive 2-0 quarterfinal series win against the Miracle Ravens. The Rangers sealed their place in the next round by defeating the Ravens 68-51 in Game Two, held on Saturday at the YMCA court in Wandegeya. Entering the game, the Miracle Ravens were eager to level the series after suffering a heavy 47-80 loss in Game One on Wednesday at Lugogo. However, KIU Rangers maintained their momentum from the start, leading 13-08 after the first quarter and extending their advantage to nine points by halftime. Miracle Ravens showed resilience, winning the third quarter 20-19 to reduce the deficit to eight points. Despite their efforts, the Rangers came back strong in the final quarter, outscoring the Ravens 18-11 to secure their spot in the semifinals. Rose Amaniyo was a standout performer for the KIU Rangers, recording a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Sharon Kirabo (170-F-1996) and Ines Kanyamunza (G) contributed significantly as well, scoring 15 and 14 points respectively. For the Miracle Ravens, Susan Amito (SF-1988) led the scoring with 16 points, while Hanifa Namuli and Akello Winfred each added 10 points. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome the Rangers’ dominance. KIU Rangers will face the winner of the UCU Lady Canons vs. Magic Stormers matchup in the semifinals, as they continue their pursuit of a maiden championship.
