The Regular Season in NBL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: Blazers (#1) and UCU Canons (#5). Blazers (15-3) smashed visiting UCU Canons (10-7) by 16 points 109-93. Blazers forced 22 UCU Canons turnovers and had a 26-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Blazers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by UCU Canons' players. Forward Joseph Chuma (-1991) fired 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Togolese guard Jimmy Williams (196-1986, college: ABU) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Center Peter Sifuma (-1996) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blazers have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-3 record. UCU Canons at the other side dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with KCCA P.. Our Saviour was smashed at home by 17 points 53-70 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of Rwandan center Micheal Makiadi (-1989) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Jimmy Williams contributed with 20 points for the winners. Blazers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Henry Ssebagala replied with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for Our Saviour. Blazers (15-3) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Our Saviour at the other side keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked KIU Titans (14-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Jaguars (10-9). KIU Titans smashed Jaguars 82-56 on Sunday. Joel Lukoji scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side George Agasi responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KIU Titans have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Jaguars keep the sixth position with nine games lost.
