Akello Scovia gets MVP of the Week award for Ugandan NBL (by Hoops Agents)

Akello Scovia had a very impressive game in the last round for YMCA Lady Hamstars and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The had the game-high 25 points adding seven rebounds and four assists for YMCA Hamstars in her team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Kampala Uni (#12, 0-13) with 21-point margin 72-51. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. YMCA Hamstars maintains the 10th position in Ugandan NBL. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. YMCA Hamstars have already lost 12 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Scovia had a remarkable 90.0% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at YMCA Hamstars, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Akello Scovia averages this season 13.6ppg and 6.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Mercy Batamuliza of JT Lady Jaguars. Batamuliza impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 23 rebounds. Of course she led JTL Jaguars to another comfortable win 62-43 over the lower-ranked A1 Challenge (#9, 4-10) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed JTL Jaguars to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 9-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Batamuliza is one of the most experienced players at JTL Jaguars and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Lilian Cherotich (F) of Miracle Ravens (#6). Cherotich scored 8 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Miracle, leading her team to a 53-46 win against the lower-ranked A1 Challenge (#9, 4-10). Miracle needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 6 lost games. Cherotich has a great season in Uganda. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.7rpg (5th best).

10. Becky Longom (F) of JKL Dolphins - 11 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
