Talented Mary Amaniyo (180-PF-2003) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best KIU Rangers and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 20-year old power forward had the game-high 20 points adding three rebounds and two assists for KIU Rangers in her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Kampala Uni (#12, 0-10) with 55-point margin 97-42. KIU Rangers is placed at 2nd position in Ugandan NBL. They are still close to the very top. KIU Rangers would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 8-1 record. Amaniyo turned to be KIU Rangers' top player in her first season with the team. Amaniyo has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 11.6rpg) and averages solid 2.4spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another KIU Rangers' star - guard Ines Kanyamunza (G). Kanyamunza impressed basketball fans with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course together with Amaniyo she helped KIU Rangers with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Nabisunsa (#11, 1-9) 63-35. This victory allowed KIU Rangers to move up to second position in the standings. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 8 matches. Kanyamunza is one of the most experienced players at KIU Rangers and similarly like Mary Amaniyo has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#3).

The third best performed player last round was another KIU Rangers' star - Sharon Kirabo (170-F-1996). Kirabo scored 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. She was another key player of KIU Rangers, helping her team with a 97-42 easy win against Kampala Uni (#12, 0-10). KIU Rangers is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 8-1 record is not that bad... Kirabo has a great season in Uganda. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (9th best). She also has 2.3spg and a FGP of 50.8%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
