International Power forward Hope Akello (183-F/C-1997) had an amazing evening in the last round for Just Kip Living Lady Dolphins, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds, while her team edged out KCCA Leopards (#1, 9-2) 83-81. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. JKL Dolphins is placed at 3rd position in Ugandan NBL. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and JKL Dolphins keeps a perfect 7-0 record. In the team's last game Akello had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at JKL Dolphins, through which she has constantly improved. Hope Akello has solid league stats. She leads league in rebounds with 14.4rpg and is league's best passer with 5.0apg. Akello is in league's top in and averages impressive 2.8spg and 57.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Kazibwe Sylvester of league's leader KCCA Leopards. Sylvester had a very good evening with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as KCCA Leopards was edged by slightly lower-ranked JKL Dolphins (#3, 7-0) 83-81. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. KCCA Leopards still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. It was just her team's 2nd loss this season, while they won 9 other games. Sylvester is one of the most experienced players at KCCA Leopards and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another KCCA Leopards' star - guard Perus Nyamwenge (G). Nyamwenge scored 27 points. Despite Nyamwenge's great performance the KCCA Leopards lost 81-83 to #3 ranked JKL Dolphins. But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. KCCA Leopards had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 2nd lost game is hopefully really an accident. Nyamwenge's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Nyamwenge has a great season in Uganda. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (2nd best).

4. Bridget Aber (2001) of UCU Ladies - 11 points and 15 rebounds
