Cheng's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

Forward Peter Cheng (F) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Namuwongo Blazers and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds, while his team crushed JKL Dolphins (#10, 2-6) with 19-point margin 89-70. It allowed Blazers to consolidate first place in the Ugandan league. Blazers have a solid 8-1 record. In the team's last game Cheng had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Blazers' top player in his first season with the team. Cheng has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 15.6ppg) and averages solid 1.1bpg.

Second best performed player last round was Moses Mugisha (C/F-1984) of Our Saviour Kampala. He is a in his second season at Our Saviour. In the last game Mugisha recorded an impressive double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Our Saviour to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Kampala R. (#12, 1-9) 63-43. Our Saviour's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 6-5 record is not bad at all. Mugisha is well-known at Our Saviour and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.8ppg (#3). He also registered 7.2 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Puati Kikomba of Kampala Rockets (#12). Kikomba scored 10 points and grabbed 21 rebounds (!!!). Despite Kikomba's great performance the Kampala R. lost 43-63 to the higher-ranked Our Saviour (#4, 6-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Kampala R. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-9 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Kikomba has individually a great season in Uganda. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.1ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 14.4rpg (#1 in league).
