Center Peter Sifuma (C-1996) had a great game in the last round for UCU Canons Kampala, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 18 points and 21 rebounds, while his team crushed Our Saviour (#5, 4-5) with 20-point margin 62-42. Thanks to this victory UCU Canons moved-up to the 4th position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. UCU Canons will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. Sifuma has many years of experience at UCU Canons, through which he has constantly improved. Peter Sifuma has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 11.0rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was Arthur Wanyoto of JKL Dolphins Kampala. Wanyoto had a very good evening with a double-double of 13 points and 20 rebounds. Of course JKL Dolphins cruised to a 73-61 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Ndejje Angels (#11, 2-5). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But JKL Dolphins managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Wanyoto is one of the most experienced players at JKL Dolphins and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.8ppg (#7). He also registered 11.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was John Teko of Our Saviour Kampala (#5). Teko scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Teko's great performance the Our Saviour lost 61-70 to slightly lower-ranked KIU Titans (#6, 3-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Our Saviour ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Teko could help Our Saviour to bring them higher in the standings. Teko has a very solid season. In 8 games in Uganda he scored 7.1ppg. He also has 4.1rpg and a FGP of 62.5%.
