NBL Round 6 (Regular Season): JTL Jaguars beat Lady Tomahawks in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: JTL Jaguars (#7) and Lady Tomahawks (#7). Lady Tomahawks were defeated at home 63-76 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. JTL Jaguars forced 24 Lady Tomahawks turnovers. The best player for the winners was Ruth Letaru (-1997) who scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international forward Sarah Ageno (176-1996) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Christine Namyalo (-2006) who recorded 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Lady Tomahawks' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. JTL Jaguars (3-3) moved-up to sixth place. Lady Tomahawks lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh position with five games lost. JTL Jaguars' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Miracle.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Kampala: KCCA Leopards (#1) and Lady Tomahawks (#7). Lady Tomahawks were smashed at home by 50 points 50-100 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a good game for guard Perus Nyamwenge who led her team to a victory with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Asinah Kabendela contributed with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. point guard Patience Nantume (157-2003) replied with 15 points and 4 assists for Lady Tomahawks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated KCCA Leopards (7-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Lady Tomahawks lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh place with five games lost. KCCA Leopards' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena .
Magic Stormers can celebrate finally their first win this season after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Kampala, where they outplayed A1 Challenge (1-5) 83-56 on Sunday. Daphine Adong scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners. Magic Stormers' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Faith Apio with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Magic Stormers (1-4) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. A1 Challenge at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Magic Stormers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala UCU Ladies.

In the last game of round 6 Nabisunsa was crushed by Miracle in Kampala 83-41.

A1 Challenge - Magic Stormers 56-83

Magic Stormers can celebrate finally their first win this season after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Kampala, where they outplayed A1 Challenge (1-5) 83-56 on Sunday. Magic Stormers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to A1 Challenge's 32. Magic Stormers forced 27 A1 Challenge turnovers and outrebounded them 50-24 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Daphine Adong scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Kur Ajah chipped in 18 points during the contest. Miracle - Nabisunsa 83-41

There was no surprise in Kampala where 11th ranked Nabisunsa (1-6) was crushed by fifth ranked Miracle (5-2) 83-41 on Sunday. Miracle dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Nabisunsa's 24. Miracle forced 27 Nabisunsa turnovers and outrebounded them 52-21 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Akello Winnifred (-2001) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Brenda Alyano chipped in 23 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Keturah Auma with 7 points and 6 rebounds and Mpoza Abigail scored 9 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Miracle have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Nabisunsa lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Miracle's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala JTL Jaguars.

KCCA Leopards dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Lady Tomahawks' 18. KCCA Leopards forced 33 Lady Tomahawks turnovers and outrebounded them 56-27 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. KCCA Leopards players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Lady Tomahawks' players. It was a good game for guard Perus Nyamwenge who led her team to a victory with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Asinah Kabendela contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners.
