JKL Dolphins smashed A1 Challenge in Kampala 72-45. JKL Dolphins forced 27 A1 Challenge turnovers and outrebounded them 52-30 including a 25-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Hope Akello (183-1997) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Becky Longom chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Stella Kiberenge who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. A1 Challenge will play next round against Nabisunsa trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena of Nabisunsa. It was a great evening for Mary Amaniyo who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Susan Amito with 4 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KIU Rangers will meet at home YMCA Hamstars (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
