Lunkuse number one in Uganda NBL for round 2

Guard Stella Lunkuse (G-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for UPDF Lady Tomahawks, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds, while her team beat A1 Challenge (#10, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 78-69. Lady Tomahawks is placed at 4th position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Lady Tomahawks will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. Lunkuse just recently signed at Lady Tomahawks and just after two games she already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Stella Lunkuse has solid league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 20.5ppg. Lunkuse is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 11.5rpg) and averages impressive 60.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Stella Kiberenge of A1 Challenge Kampala. Kiberenge had a very good evening with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as A1 Challenge lost that game 69-78 to Lady Tomahawks (2-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Kiberenge is one of the most experienced players at A1 Challenge and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.5ppg (#7). She also registered 9.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international Shakirah Nanvubya (2000) of league's top team UCU Lady Canons. Nanvubya scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of UCU Ladies, leading her team to a 91-50 easy win against YMCA Hamstars (#12, 0-3). UCU Ladies confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Nanvubya has a very solid season. In 4 games in Uganda she scored 9.0ppg.
