NBL Round 24: Power beat Kampala R. in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: Power (#5) and Kampala R. (#7). Kampala R. was smashed at home by 17 points 67-84 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Power dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kampala R.'s 38. They outrebounded Kampala R. 41-22 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Kampala R.'s players. The best player for the winners was power forward Isaac Afidra (-1985) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Elvis Bwanka chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Gideon Kasasa (-1998) who recorded 11 points and 5 assists. Power (10-9) moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Kampala R. keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with JKL Dolphins.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Kampala: JKL Dolphins (#10) and Rezlife S. (#12). JKL Dolphins (8-13) won against visiting Rezlife S. (3-15) 77-68. It was a good game for guard Ahmed Kassa who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Bienfait Minani contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Micheal Otieno (193-1993) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for Rezlife S.Rezlife S.'s coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. JKL Dolphins moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Kampala R. Rezlife S. lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost.

JKL Dolphins - Rezlife S. 77-68

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Kampala: JKL Dolphins (#10) and Rezlife S. (#12). JKL Dolphins (8-13) won against visiting Rezlife S. (3-15) 77-68. JKL Dolphins forced 24 Rezlife S. turnovers. Strangely Rezlife S. outrebounded JKL Dolphins 51-38 including a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rezlife S. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Ahmed Kassa who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Bienfait Minani contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four JKL Dolphins players scored in double figures. Guard Micheal Otieno (193-1993) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Ivan Ombiru added 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) in the effort for Rezlife S.Rezlife S.'s coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. JKL Dolphins moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Kampala R. Rezlife S. lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost.
