Joseph Kumbai had a great game in the last round for Ndejje Angels, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The player had a double-double of 11 points and 26 rebounds, while his team edged out JKL Dolphins (#10, 4-11) 74-72. Ndejje Angels is placed at 8th position in Ugandan NBL. Ndejje Angels is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-10 record. Kumbai has many years of experience at Ndejje Angels, through which he has constantly improved. Joseph Kumbai has solid league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 15.0rpg. Kumbai
The second best player in last round's games was young Kenyan Martin Ouma (195-F-1999) of KCCA P.. Ouma had a very good evening with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for KCCA P. to edge the lower-ranked UPDF (#11, 4-12) 77-72. This victory allowed KCCA P. to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-9 record. Ouma is one of the most experienced players at KCCA P. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.7ppg (#4). He also registered 6.1 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Felix Mukunzi (193-SF-1995) of UPDF (#11). Mukunzi scored 25 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Mukunzi's great performance UPDF lost 72-77 to the higher-ranked KCCA P. (#7, 5-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. UPDF can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Mukunzi he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Mukunzi has a very solid season. In 4 games in Uganda he scored 10.0ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
