Tony Drileba's triple-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- June 21, 2023
The 29-year old player recorded a triple-double of 10 points adding also 10 rebounds and 11 assists, while his team crushed Blazers (#3, 9-4) with 20-point margin 72-52. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed City Oilers to consolidate first place in the Ugandan NBL. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and City Oilers keeps a perfect 12-0 record. Drileba has many years of experience at City Oilers, through which he has constantly improved. Tony Drileba averages just after two games 9.5ppg, 7.0rpg and 8.5apg. The second best player in last round's games was young Moses Mugisha (C/F-1984) of Our Saviour. Mugisha had a very good evening with a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Our Saviour cruised to a 74-65 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked KCCA P. (#7, 4-8). Our Saviour's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Mugisha is one of the most experienced players at Our Saviour and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 12.7ppg (#9). He also registered 10.8 boards per game. Third on the list of top players last round was Austin Oduwour of JKL Dolphins (#9). Oduwour scored 17 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of JKL Dolphins, leading his team to a 70-57 easy win against UPDF (4-8). The chances of JKL Dolphins not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Oduwour could try to bring JKL Dolphins' a little bit higher in the standings. The season just started for Oduwour as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader. Other top performing players last week: 4. Micheal Makiadi (C-1989) of Blazers - 12 points, 21 rebounds and 2 assists 5.
