Power - JKL Dolphins 74-52 An interesting game took place in Kampala where higher ranked JKL Dolphins (3-5) were upset on the court of tenth ranked Power (3-6) 74-52 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of JKL Dolphins. Power dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to JKL Dolphins' 22. Power forced 23 JKL Dolphins turnovers. Stephen Otoa fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Samad Imran (-1993) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Four Power players scored in double figures. John Teko produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Jude Ocheng (177-1984) added 12 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Power moved-up to eighth place, which they share with UPDF. Kenneth Mesho notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and power forward Moses Mugisha (-1984) supported him with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Even 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Ferdinand Odama (-1995) did not help to save the game for UPDF. Forward Benard Okumu (-1986) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. KIU Titans (7-1) won against visiting Blazers (5-3) 74-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Blazers. Strangely Blazers outrebounded KIU Titans 54-42 including a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. DR Congolese center Amisi Saidi (200) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Ochera Innocent (-1997) chipped in 19 points during the contest. KIU Titans' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Peter Cheng responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Rwandan center Micheal Makiadi (-1989) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Five Blazers players scored in double figures. KIU Titans have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record having five points less than leader City Oilers. (2-7) was crushed by fourth ranked UCU Canons (5-3) 87-35 on Saturday. UCU Canons held Rezlife S. to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.0 percent accuracy of the winners. UCU Canons forced 19 Rezlife S. turnovers and outrebounded them 47-24 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. UCU Canons looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Rezlife S.'s players. Center Peter Sifuma (-1996) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Guard Jerry Kayanga (-1997) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists.
