Ugandan Forward Stanley Mugerwa (198-F-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best KIU Titans and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 11 points and ten rebounds, while his team crushed Kampala R. (#12, 1-4) with 25-point margin 78-53. KIU Titans maintains the 2nd position in Ugandan NBL. They are still close to the very top. KIU Titans would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. It's Mugerwa's second year at KIU Titans and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Stanley Mugerwa averages just after three games 10.3ppg and 8.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was John Teko of JKL Dolphins. Teko impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for JKL Dolphins to edge the lower-ranked Kampala R. (#12, 1-4) by 4 points 70-66. This victory allowed JKL Dolphins to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Teko is one of the most experienced players at JKL Dolphins and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Samad Imran (F-1993) of Power (#9). Imran scored 11 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Imran's great performance Power lost 50-81 to the higher-ranked UCU Canons (#4, 4-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Power can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Imran has individually a great season in Uganda. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.6rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jerry Kayanga (G-1997) of UCU Canons - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Kayiira Joel (2001) of UCU Canons - 14 points and 10 rebounds
6. Jimmy Otim (1999) of UCU Canons - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Amisi Saidi (200-C) of KIU Titans - 15 points and 7 rebounds

9. Derrick Katumba (194-F-1993) of JKL Dolphins - 3 points and 18 rebounds
10. Peter Obleng (190-G-2003) of KIU Titans - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
