Omanye's 22 points and 8 assists give him Player of the Week award- August 30, 2019
He had the game-high 22 points adding seven rebounds and eight assists for Warriors in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Falcons (#10, 4-18) with 39-point margin 80-41. Warriors maintains the 3rd position in Ugandan league. They are still close to the very top. Warriors would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 17-4 record. In the team's last game Omanye had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Warriors' top player in his first season with the team. Omanye has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (7th best: 3.3apg) and averages solid 54.3% FGP. Second best performed player last round was Maker Mayen (SF) of Our Saviour. He is a in his first season at Our Saviour. In the last game Mayen recorded impressive double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Our Saviour was edged by the higher-ranked Ndejje Angels (#7, 11-11) 65-62. Our Saviour are still at the very bottom. 20 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Our Saviour managed to get this year. Mayen is a newcomer at Our Saviour and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often. Third place about best performers goes to forward Samuel Ajack (F-91) of Ndejje Angels (#7). Ajack got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was a key player of Ndejje Angels, leading his team to a 91-62 easy win against the lower-ranked Falcons (#10, 4-18). Ndejje Angels needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 11 lost games. Ajack has a great season in Uganda. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.6ppg (6th best). He also has 2.3spg and FGP: 50.3%. Other top performing players last week: 4.
