Al Fidaa lands Dhieu Abwok

Dhieu Abwok

Homs Al Fidaa (SBL) signed 24-year old South Sudanese ex-international 196cm guard Dhieu Abwok (college: UTSA). He was the second-best scorer at Giants in the South African NBL league. In four Basketball Africa League games, he averaged an impressive 19.8ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.5apg, and 2.0spg last season. Last season, he played at Al Safa of Safwa in the Saudi Arabian league. He was a member of the South Sudanese Senior National Team between 2021 and 2024.
Abwok is a very experienced player, thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in four different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with Asian, African and of course North American leagues. Abwok has played professionally in Saudi Arabia, Tanzania (Pazi) and Burundi (Dynamo).
In 2024, his team reached the Basketball Africa League Semifinals.
Abwok graduated from the University of Texas San Antonio in 2022, and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball. He also played for Dodge City Community College and the University of South Carolina - Aiken.
