Sifiso Gininda (186-G/F-1998) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Kwa-Zulu Marlins and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 27-year old swingman had the game-high 15 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Marlins in his team's victory, helping them to crush Mountaineers (#3, 2-2) with 16-point margin 77-61. Marlins maintains the 2nd position in their group in the South African BNL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Marlins will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. Gininda has many years of experience at Marlins, through which he has constantly improved. Sifiso Gininda averages this season 12.0ppg and 5.8rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Marlins' star - Bena Kabuya. Kabuya impressed basketball fans with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course together with Gininda he helped Kwa-Zulu Marlins with another comfortable win 77-61 over slightly lower-ranked Mountaineers (#3, 2-2) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group A. Marlins consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 3-1 record is not bad at all. Kabuya is one of the most experienced players at Marlins and similarly like Sifiso Gininda has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.5ppg (#8). His other stats are also decent: 6.3rpg and 4.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Marlins' star - South African Storm Gilchrist (206-F-2005). Gilchrist showcased his all-around game by recording 12 points, 18 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Gilchrist's great performance the Kwa-Zulu Marlins lost 65-66 to #1 ranked Suns. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Marlins needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in the Group A. Their record is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Gilchrist has a great season in South Africa. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.5rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 4.5apg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
