Marcus Mokwena gets MVP of the Week award for South African BNL (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced Marcus Mokwena (G-1988) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Tshwane Suns and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 37-year old guard had a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Mountaineers (#3, 2-1) with 22-point margin 81-59. Suns is placed at 2nd position in South African BNL. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Suns won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Mokwena has many years of experience at Suns, through which he has constantly improved. Mokwena has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.0ppg), rebounds (8th best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 5.0spg and 62.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Sun Kalaya of Western Cape Mountaineers. Kalaya impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Mountaineers to another comfortable win 74-59 over Pride (#4, 0-2) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group A. Mountaineers consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 2-1 record is not bad at all. Kalaya is one of the most experienced players at Mountaineers and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Suns' star - Innocent Kwago (SG). Kwago scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was another key player of Tshwane Suns, helping his team with a 81-59 easy win against #3 ranked Mountaineers. Suns has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Kwago also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Kwago has a very solid season. In 2 games in South Africa he scored 10.0ppg.
