Suns outrebounded Rhinos 56-43 including a 42-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Lethabo Makgalemele stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international center Somusa Mthembu (206-1992) chipped in 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Suns' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side guard Vusi Sibeko (-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Joshua Tawengwa (192) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Five Rhinos players scored in double figures.

KZ Marlins - MBB 78-59

Marlins dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to MBB's 18. Marlins forced 20 MBB turnovers and outrebounded them 60-44 including 20 on the offensive glass. Marlins players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Tirivashe Gapara nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winning side and guard Benjamin Myburgh (185-1997) accounted for 10 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Marlins players scored in double figures. Marlins' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international power forward Reece Prinsloo (203-1991) came up with 9 points and 17 rebounds and the former international guard Celumusa Khumalo (193-1988) added 17 points respectively for MBB in the defeat.
