Thabo Sithole gets MVP of the Week award for South African BNL

Thabo Sithole had a great game in the last round for MBB and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The had a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out S.Panthers (#4, 1-3) 68-64. MBB maintains the 3rd position in their group in the South African BNL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. MBB will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Sithole had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be MBB's top player in his first season with the team. Sithole has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 18.5ppg. Sithole is in league's top in assists (9th best: 3.5apg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another MBB's star - young international guard Celumusa Khumalo (193-G-1988). Khumalo impressed basketball fans with 16 points and 9 rebounds. It was enough for MBB to edge slightly lower-ranked S.Panthers (#4, 1-3) by 4 points 68-64. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group A. MBB consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 2-1 record is not bad at all. Khumalo is a newcomer at MBB and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Sicelo Dzingwa (195-G/F-1999) of Soweto Panthers (#4). Dzingwa scored 23 points. Despite Dzingwa's great performance the Panthers lost 64-68 to #3 ranked MBB. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. S.Panthers can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group A. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Dzingwa has individually a great season in South Africa. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.7ppg (5th best).
