Panashe Dumbu gets MVP of the Week award for South African BNL

Talented Panashe Dumbu (200-F-2004) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Egoli Magic and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 20-year old forward had a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out WC Mountaineers (#5, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 54-53. Magic is placed at 2nd position in South African BNL. Egoli Magic is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Dumbu has many years of experience at Magic, through which he has constantly improved. Dumbu has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 11.5rpg) and averages solid 3.5bpg,3.0spg and 66.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young power forward Storm Gilchrist (207-PF-2005) of league's best team Kwa-Zulu Marlins. Gilchrist impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Marlins to edge WC Mountaineers (#5, 0-2) by 5 points 88-83. Of course KZ Marlins still keep Group B's top spot. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Gilchrist is one of the most experienced players at KZ Marlins and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 12.0ppg (#9). He also registered 16.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another KZ Marlins' star - Sifiso Gininda (186-G/F-1998). Gininda scored 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was another key player of Kwa-Zulu Marlins, helping his team with a 88-83 win against WC Mountaineers (#5, 0-2). Marlins started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game in Group B. Gininda turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Gininda has a very solid season. In 3 games in South Africa he scored 11.7ppg.
