Springs' 29 points and 5 assists give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- July 16, 2023
He had the game-high 29 points adding four rebounds and five assists for Cape Town T. in his team's victory, helping them to outclass L.Pride (#4, 2-3) with 46-point margin 97-51. It allowed Cape Town T. to consolidate first place in the South African league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Cape Town T. already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Springs had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Cape Town T., through which he has constantly improved. University of Minnesota graduate has very impressive stats this year. Springs is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.7ppg. Springs is in league's top in assists (7th best: 3.3apg) and averages solid 3.3spg,68.8% FGP and 44.4% from behind 3-point line. Second best performed player last round was Nkosinathi Sibanyoni (207-F/C-1998). He is a forward in his first (recently joined) season at Cape Town T.. In the last game Sibanyoni recorded impressive double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds. Of course together with Springs he helped Cape Town T. with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked L.Pride (#4, 2-3) 97-51. Third place about best performers goes to swingman Sifiso Gininda (186-G/F-1998) of KZ Marlins (#3). Gininda scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of KZ Marlins, leading his team to a 105-59 easy win against EC Windbreakers (#5, 0-3). KZ Marlins needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group A. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost games. Gininda has a great season in South Africa. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.5ppg (8th best). Other top performing players last week: 4.
