BNL Round 9: Tigers defeat Pride in the game between Top 4 teams

There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in BNL. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An interesting game for Tigers (4-0) which hosted in Cape Town 4th placed Pride (2-3). Leader Tigers had an easy win 97-51. Tigers forced 31 Pride turnovers and outrebounded them 48-36 including 36 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Akeem Springs (193-1994, college: Minnesota) who led his team to a victory with 29 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import forward Sita Conteh (203-1998, college: Coppin St.) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. DR Congolese power forward Damien Kasongo (200-1997) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for Pride. Tigers have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Tigers maintains first place with 4-0 record. Pride lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with three games lost. Tigers are looking forward to face Warriors (#5) in Bloemfontein in the next round. Pride will have a break next round.
An interesting game for Marlins (2-1) which hosted in Kwazulu 4th placed Windbreakers (0-3). First ranked Marlins had an easy win 105-59. Swingman Sifiso Gininda (186-1998) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and Sibusiso Cele chipped in 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. The best for the losing side was power forward Julian Wright (196-1990) with 25 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Marlins went down to third position due to points difference. Windbreakers at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with NC Zebras. Marlins will play against Eagles (#4) in Potchefstroom in the next round. Windbreakers will play at home against Zebras and hope to get finally their first victory.

KZ Marlins - EC Windbreakers 105-59

An interesting game for Marlins (2-1) which hosted in Kwazulu 4th placed Windbreakers (0-3). First ranked Marlins had an easy win 105-59. Marlins dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Windbreakers' 38. Marlins forced 21 Windbreakers turnovers and outrebounded them 38-22 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Windbreakers' players. Swingman Sifiso Gininda (186-1998) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Sibusiso Cele (175) chipped in 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Five Marlins players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Julian Wright (196-1990) with 25 points and swingman Siyabulela Mteto (162-1991) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds.
