Storm Gilchrest gets MVP of the Week award for South African BNL (by Hoops Agents)

Storm Gilchrest (F/C) had a very impressive game in the last round for KZ Marlins and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The power forward had a double-double of 12 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat S.Panthers (#2, 2-1) 74-62. KZ Marlins maintains the 3rd position in their group in South African BNL. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and KZ Marlins won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Gilchrest turned to be KZ Marlins' top player in his first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was forward Markus Geldenhuys (198-F) of Egoli Magic. Geldenhuys impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 17 rebounds. Of course Egoli Magic cruised to a 56-48 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked FS Warriors (#4, 1-1). This victory allowed Egoli Magic to move up to 5th position in Group B. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 1-2 record. Geldenhuys is one of the most experienced players at Egoli Magic and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was international center Stephen Gabriel (205-C-1991) of top-ranked WC Mountaineers. Gabriel scored 15 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of WC Mountaineers, leading his team to a 69-51 easy win against #2 ranked L.Pride in a game of the week. WC Mountaineers confirms their top position in Group B. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Gabriel has a great season in South Africa. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.7ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 10.7rpg (8th best).
