WC Mountaineers - M.Rhinos 85-54

Mountaineers dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Rhinos' 18 and had 25 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Rhinos only scored nine points from the stripe. They outrebounded Rhinos 53-35 including a 42-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Rhinos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Benjamin Myburgh (185-1997) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international center Stephen Gabriel (205-1991) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Mountaineers' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Kwazi Gumede (191-1997) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds and forward Nathan Kayinda added 14 points in the effort for Rhinos.

Swingman Siphumle Qanya stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Dylan Whitbread (191, college: Colgate) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side the former international Bandile Nsele (187-1991) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sibusiso Cele (175) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Marlins' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
