Lebohang Mofokeng
27-year old Lebohang Mofokeng (SF-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Soweto P. and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds, while his team crushed Northern Cape Z. (#6, 1-3) with 22-point margin 87-65. Soweto P. maintains the 2nd position in South African league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Soweto P. already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Mofokeng had a remarkable 57.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Soweto P.'s top player in his first season with the team. Mofokeng has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 17.5ppg), rebounds (5th best: 12.0rpg), assists (9th best: 2.3apg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 2.5spg.
Second best performed player last round was Luthando Mpano (180-G-95) of Western Cape M.. He is a guard in his 3rd season at Western Cape M.. In the last game Mpano recorded impressive 22 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course he led Western Cape M. to another comfortable win outscoring Northern Cape Z. (1-3) 112-86. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Mpano is one of the most experienced players at Western Cape M. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.2ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 4.7rpg and 4.3apg.
Third place about best performers goes to Junior Matsietsa (200-SF) of Northern Cape Z. (#6). Matsietsa scored 21 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). Despite Matsietsa's great performance Northern Cape Z. lost 86-112 to Western Cape M. (#3, 4-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Northern Cape Z. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Matsietsa he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Matsietsa has individually a great season in South Africa. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.0rpg (6th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
