Cape Town Tigers clinched BNL title. They crushed Tshwane Suns in the championship game tonight. Tigers outrebounded Suns 55-35 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 10 blocks. American guard Akeem Springs (193-1994, college: Minnesota) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Nkosinathi Sibanyoni (207-1998) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds. Five Tigers players scored in double figures. Gabonese swingman Gleen Bidza (193-1996) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Siphumle Qanya (182) added 16 points respectively for lost side.
