Kasongo's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Damien Kasongo

25-year old power forward Damien Kasongo (200-F/C-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team L.Pride and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 17 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Egoli Magic (#6, 0-2) with 26-point margin 65-39. It allowed L.Pride to take over top position in the South African league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and L.Pride won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Kasongo had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. It's his second year at L.Pride and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Kasongo has impressive league stats. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Kalubi is one of the most experienced players at L.Pride and similarly like Damien Kasongo has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Joshua Tawengwa (192-F) of league's second-best M.Rhinos. Tawengwa scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Tawengwa's great performance M.Rhinos lost 48-56 to #1 ranked L.Pride. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Group B. Their record is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Tawengwa has a great season in South Africa. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.0rpg (5th best).
