RBL Round 10 (Regular Season): Azomco defeat EAU in the closest game of the week

Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 10 in the RBL took place in Kigali. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked EAU (3-4) to eighth ranked Azomco (2-5) 82-81 on Sunday evening. Azomco forced 23 EAU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Azomco made 7 blocks. Jarode Aworet (-2001) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Malik Matsouka chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Azomco's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Chadian forward Ronald Nato (199-1992) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Azomco maintains eighth position with 2-5 record. Newly promoted EAU keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with UGB and Kepler.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kigali: APR (#1) and REG (#3). APR (7-1) won against visiting REG (5-3) 79-66. American Craig Randall II (193-1996, college: UT Martin) notched 27 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Osborn Shema supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds by DR Congolese forward Frank Betoudji (201-1998) did not help to save the game for REG. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. APR have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record. REG at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Patriots.
Bottom-ranked Inspired Gen. (0-8) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Patriots (5-3) 84-42 on Wednesday evening. Hubert Kwizera fired 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Patriots' coach Sunny Munyandamutsa felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Philippe Kubanatubane produced 14 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Patriots moved-up to third place, which they share with REG. Newly promoted Inspired Gen. still closes the standings with eight games lost.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points and 7 rebounds by Hodal Herve of Patriots.

Randall II is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds by DR Congolese forward Frank Betoudji (201-1998) did not help to save the game for REG. The former international Prince Muhizi (200-1996) added 19 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
