D1 Round 4 (Regular Season): Kepler lose to APR

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Kepler (2-1) recorded its first loss in Kigali on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked APR (3-1) 54-44. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kepler. APR forced 27 Kepler turnovers. The former international center Jane Dusabe (-2005) fired 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Violette Uwimpuhwe (165-2004) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. DR Congolese center Aichata Traore (185-2005) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. APR maintains third position with 3-1 record behind leader REG. Kepler at the other side dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. APR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kigali to the arena REG.
Another exciting game was played in Cyabingo between fifth ranked RP-IPRC Huye and bottom-ranked GSMRR where RP-IPRC Huye (1-3) beat GSMRR (0-4) on the road 55-47. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Stella Dusingizumuremyi (154-2003) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Adelphine Tuyishimire contributed with 7 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Marie Yamfashije (-2002) replied with 24 points for GSMRR. GSMRR's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. RP-IPRC Huye maintains fifth position with 1-3 record. It was GSMRR's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. RP-IPRC Huye will play against league's leader REG in Kigali in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. GSMRR will play at home against APR (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kigali: REG (#1) and Azomco (#5). REG (4-0) smashed visiting Azomco (0-2) by 17 points 82-65. Worth to mention a great performance of Nandy Uwitonze who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side Santhiana Izere responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. REG have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Loser Azomco still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Gahini. REG's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kigali APR.

In the last game of round 4 The Hoops defeated Gahini in Kigali 57-40.
The best stats of 4th round was 15 points and 10 rebounds by Angelique Tuyishime of The Hoops.
