The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kigali: APR (#1) and Kepler (#4). Kepler was defeated at home 36-47 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. APR held Kepler to an opponent 20.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 21.2 percent accuracy of the winners. APR forced 21 Kepler turnovers and outrebounded them 61-40 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international center Assouma Uwizeye (182-1996) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. The former international center Charlotte Umugwaneza (195-1984) contributed with 7 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. Nelly Akariza answered with 9 points and 16 rebounds for Kepler. Undefeated APR (9-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row. Newly promoted Kepler dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. APR are looking forward to face EA Univ (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kepler will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked UR BBC is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to fifth ranked RP-IPRC Huye (6-3) 95-54. The former international center Nicole Urwibutso (-1994) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Santhiana Izere chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds. RP-IPRC Huye's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Valentine Mukasekuru with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. RP-IPRC Huye moved-up to fourth place. UR BBC lost their fifth game in a row.
