This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th ranked Kepler (5-3) to second ranked REG (7-1) 65-63 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kepler. REG forced 20 Kepler turnovers. Strangely Kepler outrebounded REG 49-37 including 38 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Odile Tetero (162-1998) who scored 26 points and 9 assists. Ramla Munezero (-2003) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. REG's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. point guard Nelly Nsanzabaganwa (-1995) produced 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. REG maintains second position with 7-1 record having just one point less than leader APR. Newly promoted Kepler keeps the fourth place with three games lost.

GSMRR's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Albright Mugabekazi responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. GSMRR maintains third position with 6-1 record behind leader APR. Loser UR BBC still closes the standings with seven games lost.

In the last game of round 8 UR Kigali was defeated by Gahini in a road game 44-36.
