Municipal Puente Alto (LNB) agreed terms with Nigerian-American power forward Ubongabasi Etim

Ubongabasi Etim (206-F, agency: Apex Sports Advisory) is a long, athletic frontcourt prospect with a 7’0” wingspan, known for his interior presence, rim protection, and efficient finishing around the basket. He brings a physical profile and defensive upside that fits well with Puente Alto’s frontcourt needs heading into the 2026 LNB season.
He played his most recent season at Southeastern Louisiana University (NCAA Division I), where he contributed as a rotational big, showing flashes as a paint finisher, rebounder, and weakside shot blocker. Prior to SLU, Etim developed through the U.S. college system, gaining experience against high-level Division I competition.
Etim is also Cotonou-eligible (Nigeria), giving him added roster value in international competitions and league structures.
A high-motor forward, he runs the floor well, protects the rim, and finishes efficiently in pick-and-roll situations. His profile projects well to the Chilean LNB, where physicality, rebounding, and interior defense are key frontcourt requirements.
This will be Etim’s first professional contract, and he is expected to have an immediate impact as an energy big and defensive anchor for Puente Alto.
