Mystics land Michaela Onyenwere

Washington Mystics tabbed 26-year old former USA-Nigerian international 6-0 forward Michaela Onyenwere (college: UCLA) for new season. She played last summer at Chicago Sky. In 42 WNBA games she averaged 5.8ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.1apg. The last season she played at Jiangsu in Chinese league.
In 2021 she was drafted by New York Liberty (WNBA) in first round (6th overall).
The former University of California at Los Angeles standout is in her sixth season in pro basketball.
She is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball she experienced life in four different countries playing on three different continents. Onyenwere is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. She has played professionally in China, Spain (Avenida and Girona), Turkey (Besiktas and Ormanspor) and other WNBA team (Phoenix Mercury).
Among many awards she played in the final of Wooden Award in 2021. Onyenwere was also Pac-12 All-Tournament Team and WNBA Rookie of the Year award back in 2021.
