Cimarrones del Choco (LBP) signed 31-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) center Duby Okeke (203cm-104kg-1994, college: Nebraska, agency: Interperformances) for the upcoming 2026 season. He is the second foreign player in the roster as USA Ty'Lik Evans signed here earlier. He played last summer at Raleigh 919 Legends (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. In two TBT games he had 5.0ppg, 8.5rpg, 1.5apg, and 1.0bpg.
He is a very experienced player, having played in five different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America). Okeke has played professionally in Lebanon (Hoops), Mexico (Tijuana Zonkeys), Spain (Ourense, Cornella, Menorca, Grupo Eleyco Baskonia 2nd team, and Navarra), the Dominican Republic (Leones), and The Basketball Tournament (Team Gibson).
Among many awards, his team won the Mexican CIBACOPA Regular Season in 2024. He was also voted the Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB Silver Defensive Player of the Year back in 2020.
Okeke graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2018 and will be entering his ninth season as a professional player. He also played for Winthrop University for 4 years.
