SPB 2026 - Peter Olisemeka (ex Rivers H.) joins Gaiteros

Peter Olisemeka

Defending champion Gaiteros de Zulia (SPB) agreed terms with experienced 34-year old Italian-Nigerian center Peter Olisemeka (207cm-105kg-1991) for the new 2026 season. He played last summer at Rivers Royal Hoopers in the Nigerian PBL league. In 8 Basketball Africa League games, he had 8.8ppg, 10.4rpg, 2.6apg, and 1.3spg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. Last season, he played for different teams. Olisemeka ended the season at Hapoel Migdal Haemek/Emek Izrael/Nazareth Elite (National League) in the Israeli league.
He is quite an experienced player. Olisemeka has played in Bulgaria (Akademik Plovdiv), Cyprus (Apollon, Koop Spor, Yenicami, Magem, and Girne Amerikan Universitesi), France (Tours), Holland (Groningen and ZZ Leiden), Israel, Poland (Spojnia and Kociewskie Diably), Romania (Craiova, Valcea, and CSM Steaua Bucuresti), Burundi (Urunani), and Armenia (Vahakni City). He played in the final of the Nigerian League in 2025.
Among many awards, he was voted to Afrobasket.com All-Basketball Africa League Honorable Mention in 2024.
