Offurum re-signs at Fribourg

Mezie Offurum

Fribourg Olympic (SBL) confirmed in their roster 25-year old USA-Nigerian forward Mezie Offurum (203cm-104kg-2000, college: JMU) for season 2025-26. He played there last season. He managed to play in three leagues last year. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 6 SBL games he recorded 11.0ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.3apg and 1.5spg. Offurum helped them to win the Supercup. He also played 6 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged impressive 15.2ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.5apg and 1.8spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com FIBA Europe Cup Honorable Mention. And finally he recorded 1 game in Basketball Champions League where he had 11 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
Offurum has also played professionally in France, specifically with C'Chartres.
Among many awards, he was selected to Eurobasket.com French NM1 All-Imports Team in 2024.
He graduated from James Madison University in 2023 and it will be his third season as a professional player. Offurum played for other colleges like Mount Saint Mary's University and The George Washington University.
