Penarol inks Gus Okafor

Gus Okafor

Penarol Mar del Plata (La Liga) signed 26-year old USA-Nigerian forward Gus Okafor (201cm-104kg-1999, college: Wichita State) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. He played last season at ALM Evreux Basket in French ProB. In 31 games, he had 9.1ppg, 3.1rpg, and 1.0apg. The previous (2024) summer, he played at Midtown Prestige in the U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament.
He has played professionally in Denmark (Naestved) as well.
Okafor played in the final of the Danish League in 2024.
He graduated from Wichita State in 2023 and it'll be his third season as a pro player. Okafor played for other colleges like: Southeastern Louisiana University, Miami Dade College, Longwood College.
