Aliaga Petkimspor Izmir (BSL) strengthened their roster with addition of 28-year old Nigerian-American ex-international 198cm guard Daniel Utomi (college: USC) for season 2025-26. Utomi played this summer at Ostioneros de Guaymas in Mexican CIBACOPA. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 13 CIBACOPA games just recently he recorded 13.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.5apg. The last season he played at Astana. But in only one Kazakhstan game he did not score anything and had only 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Utomi also played 37 games in VTB United League where he averaged 14.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.3apg. He was a member of Nigerian Senior National Team between 2021 and 2023.
Utomi is a very experienced player. Thanks to Utomi's pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in four different countries. He has played previously professionally in Finland (Karhubasket), France (JA Vichy), Greece (Kolossos H Hotels Rodou) and Italy (Pistoia and Chiusi). Utomi was also voted to All-MAC Honorable Mention back in 2018 and 2019.
His team won MAC East Division Regular Season in 2017.
He graduated from University of Southern California in 2020 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball. Utomi played also for The University of Akron for 4 years.
