2025 AfroBasket: Nigeria open win count with rout of Madagascar

Nigeria clinched the first win at the 2025 AfroBasket. They outscored Madagascar in Group B opener. Caleb Agada (196-PG-1994, college: Ottawa, agency: Blacktop Management) scored 22 points to pace the winners.
Nigeria ensured an 18-14 lead after the opening quarter. Madagascar sank 23 points in the second term to pull within one point at halftime 38-37. Nigeria limited Madagascar to just 9 points in the third term to secure a 9-point lead at the final break. They followed with a 22-13 rally in the final stanza to secure the win. Stan Okoye (198-SF-1991, college: VMI) produced 13 points for Nigeria. Sitraka Raharimanantoanina (206-PF-2001) responded with 20 points for Madagascar.
