The Hornets waive Josh Okogie

Josh Okogie

The Charlotte Hornets released 26-year-old double-passport holder Nigerian guard Josh Okogie (6'4''-213lbs-1998, college: Georgia Tech). He played there last season. In 15 NBA games, he had 8.9ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.3apg, and 1.8spg. He also played for another NBA team, the Suns, earlier that season.
In 2018, he was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round (20th overall). Okogie attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, and it is his eighth season in pro basketball.
He represented the USA at the FIBA World Cup 2023 African Qualifiers two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 16 ppg and had 7.7 rpg.
