PBC CSKA Moscow keeps Jekiri for another season

Tonye Jekiri

Defending champion PBC CSKA Moscow (VTB United League) re-signed 30-year old Nigerian ex-international 212cm center Tonye Jekiri (college: Miami, FL) for season 2025-26. He is the second foreign player in the roster as USA Antonius Cleveland signed here earlier. He has played there for the last two seasons. He helped them to win the VTB United League championship. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week and selected to Eurobasket.com VTB United League Second Team.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016. Jekiri was a member of the Nigerian Senior National Team between 2019 and 2020.
He is a very experienced player. Jekiri has played professionally in Belgium (Oostende), France (ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne Basket), Spain (Baskonia) and Turkey (Fenerbahce, Gaziantep and TEKSUT Bandirma BK).
He was voted to the French ProA All-Star Game in 2020.
Jekiri graduated from the University of Miami in 2016, and it will be his 10th season in pro basketball.
