Aliaga Petkimspor Izmir (BSL) inked 29-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) 188cm shooting guard David Efianayi (college: Gardner-Webb) for upcoming season. It is actually his comeback to Petkimspor as he has played here before. Efianayi is a well-known player in Turkish BSL where he played most recently at Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi Spor Mersin in Turkish BSL league. In 19 games he averaged 12.8ppg and 2.2apg last season. He helped them to make it to the Turkish Cup Semifinals. Efianayi also played for Galatasaray that season. In 8 BSL games he had 3.1ppg. He also played 4 games in Basketball Champions League where he recorded 4.5ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.3apg.
Efianayi is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Denmark (Horsens IC and Bakken), France (Denain Voltaire), Israel (Hapoel Beer Sheva) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Overtime). His team made it to the Big South Conference Tournament Semifinals in 2016 and 2017.
Among many awards he was voted to Eurobasket.com Danish Ligaen All-Imports Team back in 2021.
Efianayi graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 2019 and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
