Defending champion KK Crvena zvezda Meridianbet Beograd (KLS) landed 29-year old Nigerian ex-international 198cm power forward Chima Moneke (college: UC Davis) for new season. Moneke has played for the last two years at Baskonia in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 33 games he averaged 12.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.3apg last season. Good year as he was voted League Player of the Week. He also played 33 games in Euroleague where he had 14.0ppg, 6.1rpg and 2.3apg. Moneke was a member of Nigerian Senior National Team between 2020 and 2021.
He is a very experienced player. Moneke has played also professionally in France (Monaco, Entente Orleans 45, Denain Voltaire and Quimper UJAP), NBA (Sacramento Kings) and NBA G League (Stockton).
Among many awards he won French ProA championship title in 2023. He received Eurobasket.com All-Basketball Champions League Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Spanish Liga Endesa Import Player of the Year award back in 2022.
Moneke graduated from University of California - Davis in 2018 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball. He played also for Northeast Community College for 2 years.
